J-Dream crowned J/109 Autumn Champion 2009 PDF Print E-mail

Report J/109 Class Association

The Autumn Championships for the J/109 UK Class took place over the weekend 10/11 October 2009 with racing run by Hamble River Sailing Club.  Six races were scheduled (4 on Saturday, 2 on Sunday) and no discard.  The J/109 UK Class had also arranged for Julian Pearson to coach the class on Saturday, who was ably assisted by James Knight of North Sails and there was a lot of useful video footage and discussion back at the Club after racing.

DSCN1061-400 This year’s Regatta received 30 entries spread over the three classes  The IRC class numbers were dominated by Qtr tonners including a crew from Holland  giving an international flavour to the event  The numbers for the Club non spinnaker class was double that of last years. many of whom had benefitted from the Saturday morning race practice sessions held during the season.  XOD  numbers were down slightly.
