Party time at Battle of Britain Regatta Sat 18th Sept PDF Print E-mail

During the regatta weekend there is a party evening on Saturday 18th. The prizegiving for the days' racing commences at 5pm. Barbeque food is available from 5 till 6:30 pm.

Following on from this event there is a party evening commencing at 7pm. with a hot buffet until 8:30 then 

Dancing to "Vintage" a live band playing rock & pop favourites from the 1960s to the 1980s.

All race participants and club members & their guests are welcome to the club evening and to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain the theme is WW2 so come in fancy dress or wear something from that era.

Reminder re Etiquette PDF Print E-mail

During a recent trip in the club launch to my boat I happened to notice a number of infringements of the rules around the the club defaced Blue Ensign. This has led me to remind all users of the club ensign that they have a responsibility to the club to follow the rules on this as not only can the owner if the vessel be fined but if the club is to be found frequently offending the MOD could withdraw our ability to fly a blue.

The preparation for the AGM involves quite a lot of last minute activity and it usually ends with the Hon Sec burning the candle at both ends to get the AGM pack ready in time. This will not happen this year, so I would like to remind all those of you who are intending to stand as director or flag officer at this years AGM that the closing date for nominations is 1400hrs on the 18th September. furnerRAFYC member Chris Furner is taking part in a Charity event cycling from London to Paris from the 8th to 12th of September to raise funds for The Hampshire Autistic Society.  The role of the Society is to help both the people with this disability and the families & helpers to cope and provide the care, help and assistance as and where it is required.
